  • Interest Rate and Time Value of Money: We will then gain an introduction to concepts of Interest Rate, Future Value, Present Value, and Compounding. The goal is understanding how money behaves over time and what you can do today to secure your future and multiply your wealth.
  • Functioning of Financial Market: Now, we will understand the financial structure of the Indian economy and focus on the capital markets. We will also touch upon the various participants working as stock market intermediaries.
  • Understanding Initial Public Offering (IPO): We will then deep dive into the concept of IPO, the different types of public issues, the IPO procedure in India, different investor categories for IPO, the basis of allotment, applying for IPO through ASBA and case study of an IPO on Lodha Developers.
  • Corporate Action & Its Types: Further, we will gain an introduction to corporate actions such as Dividend, Bonus Issues, Right Issues, Stock Split and Buybacks of Shares and predict the consequence of any corporate action announced by a company listed on the stock exchange. 
  • Introduction to Mutual Funds: Understand the basic concept of mutual funds, its advantages, types, and SIP. We will also discuss the methods investors can follow to invest in mutual funds and the categorization of investor types and how each should approach mutual fund investing differently.
  • Understanding Stock Markets - the Practical Way: Here, you will get a hands-on approach to the stock markets.   • Macroeconomics- Introduction & its Importance: We will understand what economics is, the difference between microeconomics and macroeconomics and the importance of macroeconomics.
  • Market Segments- Its  Roles & Interactions: Then, we will learn about market segments, their interactions, their relationship with macroeconomic entities, supply-demand approaches, and several macroeconomic approaches.
  • Gross Domestic Product: Understand the key growth variable, i.e., Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the types of approaches to calculate GDP.
  • Phases of Economic Cycles: Understand economic cycles and different phases, including the Recovery, Early Upswing, Late Upswing, and Recessionary phases.
  • Economic Indicators: Learn about the labour market and unemployment rate indicator, inflation, deflation, various inflation indices, and the importance of the housing market metrics.
  • Role of Government in an Economy & its Tools: Moving on, we will explore the role of government in an economy, fiscal policy and how government can use it to manage the economy using fiscal and monetary policy tools.
  • Indicators Related to International Trade: Next, we will understand various metrics related to International Trade, including those focused on consumers and businesses.
  • Case Study: Lastly, we will gain an insight into how macroeconomic events are crucial for trading with a case study on Black Wednesday, 1992.

Section 3: Fundamental Analysis Module

  • Introduction to Fundamental Analysis: We will understand how to analyze and evaluate a company's fundamentals by analyzing the Profit and Loss Statement, Ratios and Balance Sheet. 
  • Different Approaches to Stock Investing: We will explore the Top Down & Bottom Up approach to investing, carry out Economy and Industry, and Porter's Five Forces and SWOT analyses. Additionally, we will understand the pros and cons of various approaches.
  • Learn to analyse a company: We will gain a comprehensive understanding of analyzing the company using Quantitative and Qualitative approaches. Additionally, you will find an extensive guide on an annual report, covering everything from an introduction to its detailed content.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: We will look at the different financial statements of a company, such as a Cash Flow Statement and Profit and Loss Statement and how to analyze them to understand a business’ financial condition. We will also learn how to calculate the profit and loss of a company. 
  • Learn to Read a Balance Sheet: Moving on, we will understand what a balance sheet is and explore the assets and liabilities sides of the balance sheet. We will also learn how to analyze a company's balance sheet.
  • Efficiency & Growth Ratios: We will learn about the different types of Efficiency and Growth ratios here and how we can use them to analyze a company. We will understand efficiency ratios such as Earnings Per Share (EPS), PAT Margin(%), EBITDA Margin(%), EBIT Margin, Book Value per Share and various growth ratios, including EBITDA Growth, Earnings Per Share Growth(%), Net Profit Growth(%), Net Sales Growth(%) and track using StockEdge App.
  • Return Ratios, Solvency Ratios & Banking Ratios: Explore return ratios such as ROCE, ROA, ROE; solvency ratios such as the Current Ratio, Interest Coverage Ratio, and Debt-to-Equity Ratio and banking ratios such as Net Interest Margin, Yield on Advances, Net Non-Performing Assets (NPA), Operating Income Growth, Interest Expended to Total Funds, Interest Income to Total Funds, etc. and track them using StockEdge App.

  • The Basics: We will learn the philosophy behind technical analysis, and understand price movements over time. We will also understand teh concept of volume and open interest.
  • Dow Theory and Trendline, Support and Resistance: We will learn to analyze the market trend with the six tenets of Dow Theory and understand how to find support & resistance to trade.
  • Classical Chart Patterns and Gap Theory: We will then understand gap theory and classical chart patterns such as Double Top, Double Bottom, Triple Top, Triple Bottom, Head and Shoulders, Inverse Head and Shoulders, Wedges, Flags, Pennants, Symmetrical Triangles, Ascending and Descending Triangles, Cup and Handle, Inverse Cup and Handle, Bullish Rectangular, and Bearish Rectangular. 
  • Candlestick Chart Patterns: Further, we will learn various candlestick patterns such as Hammer, Shooting Star, Inverted Hammer, Hanging Man, Spinning Tops, Doji, Tweezer Tops, Tweezer Bottoms, Bullish Engulfing, Bearish Engulfing, Piercing, Dark Cloud Cover, Morning Star, Evening Star, and how to track bullish and bearish reversal, continuation, and Doji scans using the StockEdge App.
  • Indicators and Oscillators: Next, we will learn about Indicators and oscillators, Moving Averages, MACD,  MACD Histogram, ADX, Bollinger Bands, MFI, RSI, and Stochastics, and how to track companies with MACD, RSI signals, and Bollinger Bands using the StockEdge App.

Section 5: Derivatives Module

  • Basics of Derivatives: We will first understand the basics of derivatives with an example and learn about its types, including Futures, Forwards, Swaps and Options and know about the derivatives participants.
  • Introduction to Forward and Futures Contracts: We will then explore the concept of futures & forward, margin and MTM, delivery & settlement, rollover, volume and open interest. Additionally, learn how futures prices are derived and futures trading strategies.
  • Introduction to Options: Next, we will gain an in-depth understanding of call and put options, related terminologies, risk reward and payoff for options buyers and sellers, and intrinsic and time value of options.
  • Options Pricing: Now that we know the basics of options, we will learn how to calculate the pricing using the Black Scholes and Binomial models. We will also understand the concept of moneyness, such as In The Money (ITM), At The Money (ATM) and Out of The Money (OTM) and learn the factors affecting the premium, including the spot price of the underlying, strike price, expiry, dividend, interest rates, historical volatility and implied volatility.
  • Options Greeks: We will then learn the concept and implications of Option Greeks - Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega and Rho.
  • Practical aspects of trading in Options: We will then understand the practical aspects such as Delivery vs Cash Settlement, American vs European Option, Squaring Off before Expiry and Margins. 
  • Volume, Open Interest and PCR: Further, we will analyze the Volume and Open Interest and learn how to interpret the Option Chain from the NSE website.
  • Options Strategies: We will gain insight into directional, non-directional and advanced options strategies with case studies.

Under this course, the candidate will be required to appear for the NCFM examination. Please note that the candidate will get the Certificate of Completion of NSE Academy Certified Capital Market Professional after successfully clearing the NCFM Examination.


This exam will be hosted by NSE, for which the candidate needs to go to the NSE approved test centre. 


Steps to appear for the above examination:

  • Register yourself on NSE website by clicking here: NCFM: Registration. NCFM ID and password will be generated. This ID and password will be used for registering for the examination.
  • For the list of test centres, click here: List of test centres
  • Check the availability of seats before filling up the form in next step: Check seat availability
  • After the above steps, fill in the following: FORM
  • A confirmation will be sent by NSE directly to you for the seat booked. This confirmation email may not be sent immediately but may take at least a week to be received by you before the examination date.
  • Also, your hall ticket will be uploaded in your NCFM account itself. 

Other Details:

  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Pattern of  Questions: 60 multiple choice-based questions of 2 marks each
  • Qualifying Percentage: 50%.There is no negative marking for this module.

How to receive your Certificate?

After the examination, send your score details to the email id: support@elearnmarkets.com

You can download your certificate from the "My Certificates" tab available on your Elearnmarkets dashboard within 10 days from the date of Certificate application done successfully. 

Note: Your fee for the course is all-inclusive for the examination given for the first time. In case you appear for the examination more than once, the fee amount of Rs 2006 will be paid by you. The request for the payment details will have to be sent to the email id support@elearnmarkets.com
