Nifty takes a breather as July Series begin

 Markets ran flat as the new July F&O series kicked off today. With global markets falling including the DJIA(-0.42%), FTSE 100 (-0.50%), Shanghai (-7.4%), the performance of the Indian market couldn’t be any better. Nifty opened today at 8393 and traded with an intraday high of 8408 and a low of 8339 to finally close at 8381 (-0.20%).

Among sectoral indices, there were many positive sectors today with CNX IT (+1.36%) being the highest gainer followed by CNX REALTY (+0.79%), CNX AUTO (+0.61%) and CNX MEDIA(+0.56%). The losers today were CNX FINANCE (-0.88%) which lost the highest followed by CNX METAL (-0.8%), BANK NIFTY (-0.66%) and CNX PSU BANK (-0.42%).

Among stocks, the highest gainers today were HCLTECH (+3.33%), INDUSINDBK (+1.83%), ULTRACEMCO (+1.82%), BAJAJ-AUTO (+1.63%) and TCS (+1.57%). The losers were CAIRN (-3.17%), GAIL (-3.09%), VEDL (-2.56%), BHARTIARTL (-2.14%) and BHEL (-1.91%).

After a series of positive sessions for the last 2 weeks, market is catching its breath for a slow and steady move upward.
