About this Face2Face:

In this video of the face2face series, we have with us Mr. Vivek Bajaj, co-founder, StockEdge, Elearnmarkets, in conversation with Mr. Ashish Kyal, a technical practitioner who will be discussing a case study to help traders and investors predict the stock market and its events.

Mr. Kyal will be starting the video with an introduction of his background as a stock market trader and analyst. As someone who began his journey in the stock markets while working at Lehman Brothers before the economic collapse in 2008, he has a lot of knowledge about the stock market cycle and how it can affect our trades and investments.

Mr. Kyal will further discuss his journey towards creating a firm where he provided his clients with stock market research, and how he has also been able to write a book based on his experience and expertise. We will also be discussing about the prime features of a book he co-wrote with Dr. Smita Roy - Effective trading in financial markets using technical analysis.

While there are a lot of books on technical analysis, Mr. Kyal will discuss why novice traders and investors should pick it up. He will discuss how the book explains the various methods, tools and techniques of technical analysis and how we can use them to make the best decisions for our portfolio.

Mr. Kyal will next hold a technical discussion which will focus on the fundamentals of becoming a good, emotionally balanced trader, and the tools which can help us gain a detailed contextual perspective of the stock market.

We will begin the technical discussion with the basics of trading psychology, and understanding the perspectives of a buyer and a seller in the stock market. We will be looking at the importance of understanding the context behind the price movements in the stock market, with the help of some detailed practical examples.

Talking about trading psychology, we will touch upon how and why traders make mistakes that incur them major losses, and how they can avoid them by mastering their emotions.

We will understand the uses of various parameters like the P/E ratio in understanding and predicting the flow of the stock market and its prices and indices. Next, with the help of the basics of Elliot wave, we will look at how we can identify patterns and corrections in stock market prices and use them to our advantage.

Additionally we will also be discussing how all this knowledge can help us understand the behaviour of the stock market in this year, because of the pandemic.
