Abhishek highlights the value of
having a defined framework for process-driven investment and offers lessons
from his own investing career. He talks about how Peter Lynch, Charlie Munger,
and Warren Buffett shaped his way of thinking and exhorts his audience to
establish their investing universe, choose equities inside it, and maintain
consistency.
Additionally, Abhishek stresses the
value of following a method, remaining receptive, and developing a network. He
recognizes the need of networking and independence in making financial
decisions, but he also promotes experimentation, stability, and capital
preservation.
He discusses What is the biggest challenge
that an average investor faces? The average investor can be a creature of
emotion, often making decisions based on fear and greed rather than a sound
investment plan. During a market crash, panic can set in, leading to selling
investments at a loss. Conversely, when markets are on a tear, the fear of
missing out (FOMO) can cause investors to jump in at the peak, buying high.
This tendency to chase past performance can also lead to buying too late in a
bull market or waiting too long to enter after a crash, missing out on
potential gains. This emotional rollercoaster can be detrimental to long-term
investment success.
